Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and Wahy Academy. They are written to be read, not to be survived — plain English, no traps. Booking a lesson, or letting a child of yours attend one, means you accept them.

Who this agreement is with
This agreement is between you — the person holding the account — and Wahy Academy, which runs the online classes described below.
If you are booking for a child, you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian and have the authority to agree to these terms on their behalf. The account stays in the adult's name.
What we provide
Live, scheduled online classes with a vetted teacher in Quran reading, Tajweed, Hifz (memorization), Arabic and Islamic studies — taught for English speakers.
- Classes are one-to-one unless you have explicitly chosen a group plan.
- Classes run in our own browser classroom — video, shared mushaf and notes in one place. Nothing to install.
- If our classroom is having a bad day, your teacher may post a backup meeting link for that session. The lesson still counts as delivered.
- Session length and how many sessions you get per week are set by your plan.
You need a device with a camera, a microphone and a workable internet connection. We cannot teach through a connection that will not carry audio.
The free trial
Your first session is a real 30-minute lesson with a real teacher, at no cost. We do not ask for card details to book it, and there is nothing to cancel afterwards.
One free trial per family. We may decline a repeat trial if the household has already had one — that is the only string attached.
Plans and prices
Current plans and prices are on our pricing page, and that page is the authority if anything here ever disagrees with it. Prices are shown in US dollars.
- No enrolment fee, no materials fee, no minimum term.
- Plans are billed monthly or annually, in advance, for the period ahead.
- Family pricing is per child, on one account and one dashboard.
- Any promotional discount applies for as long as the promotion says it does — it is not a permanent price.
We will give at least 30 days' notice before a price increase, and it never applies to a period you have already paid for.
Paying
Payment is arranged directly with us — message us on WhatsApp or email and we will confirm the amount and how to send it. Once the payment lands, we activate your plan on the account and your booked sessions open up.
- We never see, ask for, or store a full card number.
- Your plan runs for the period you paid for, and simply stops at the end of it unless you renew.
- If a renewal has not arrived by the time a period ends, sessions pause rather than silently continue. We will tell you before that happens, not after.
- Any currency conversion or transfer fee charged by your own bank or payment provider is yours, not ours.
Cancelling
You may stop at any time. There is no notice period, no reason required and no retention call. Tell us, and we will not ask you to renew again.
Your classes stay available to the end of the period you have already paid for. Nothing further is charged after that.
Missed and rescheduled classes
Life happens, and the rules below exist so it costs you as little as possible without leaving a teacher sitting alone in an empty room.
- Ask at least 24 hours ahead and we move the session, free.
- Less than 24 hours' notice, or nobody arrives: the session counts as taken.
- If we cancel, or a teacher does not show, the session is rescheduled or credited back to you — your choice.
- Illness, bereavement and genuine emergencies are not charged. Just tell us.
Changing your locked-in weekly time is self-service for your first couple of changes on an enrolment; after that a manager reviews the request, so the teacher's week does not get rebuilt every fortnight.
Changing teacher
If the fit is not right, ask for a different teacher. It is free, it is not awkward, and you keep your schedule, your plan and your recorded progress. A mismatch of style is not a failure on anyone's part.
What we ask of you
- Be ready at the start time, with a working camera, microphone and connection.
- Treat your teacher with the respect you would want your own child to be shown. Abuse or harassment ends the agreement immediately, with no refund of the current period.
- Do not record, screenshot, stream or publish a class without the teacher's written permission.
- One account per learner. Accounts are not shared between families, and a plan bought for one child is not a plan for three.
Lesson materials
Worksheets, notes, recordings and plans we give you are yours to use for your own learning, for as long as you like.
They remain the property of Wahy Academy or their original author. They may not be resold, republished, or used to teach other people commercially.
Children and safeguarding
Most of our students are children, and the platform is built around that fact rather than adapted to it.
- An adult holds the account and can see everything on it — schedule, homework, teacher messages, progress.
- Classes are one-to-one in a private online classroom that a parent may join at any moment, unannounced. You never need permission to sit in.
- Teachers are interviewed in person, reference-checked, degree-verified, and Ijazah-verified for Quran teaching.
- Teachers do not contact students outside the platform. All messaging runs through the portal, where a parent can read it.
- Classes are not recorded by us.
If anything ever concerns you — anything at all — write to support@elbaz.dev or message us on WhatsApp. We would far rather hear a concern that turns out to be nothing.
If something goes wrong
Tell us at support@elbaz.dev. We reply within two working days, and we would rather fix a problem than defend a position.
If we cannot put it right, you can stop and we will refund the unused part of what you have paid. Nothing in these terms takes away consumer protections you have by law where you live.
Our responsibility, and its limits
We provide classes with reasonable care and skill, and we take teaching quality seriously.
We are not responsible for your device, your connection, or a power cut on your side — though if a session is genuinely lost to a failure on our side, we reschedule or credit it. Except where the law does not allow it to be limited, our total responsibility to you is capped at what you have paid us in the 12 months before the problem arose.
Ending the agreement
You may end it whenever you wish, as described above.
We may end it with notice, refunding anything unused, if these terms are repeatedly broken — and immediately, without refund of the current period, in cases of abuse of a teacher or conduct that puts a student's safety at risk.
Changes to these terms
We update these terms as the academy changes. The date at the top of this page always shows the last substantive change, and we will tell account holders by email before a change that affects what you pay or what you get.
